My name is Louis L.  I have a 1990 Nissan Maxima GXE.  I started to modify this car since the first day I have got it.  The first thing I have worked on was the exhaust system.  I changed the down pipes and tail pipe to 2 1/2 inches.  I replaced the stock muffler with an Ultra flow.  I also replaced the catalytic converter to straight piping.  But right now I am using a Random high flow catatlytic converter to keep my car somewhat street legal.  Then, I worked on my intake system.  I replaced the stock air box with an Akimoto Ram Air II air filter.  I use a 300ZX adapter to connect the filter to the mass air sensor.  I changed the stock piping to a much shorter one.  As you can tell from the picture, I can get more horsepower by removing my headlight.  After a major crash, I had to replace the throttle body and the chamber.  Before I installed those back into the car, I took both pieces to a machine shop and have them bored and polished.  After all the modifications I have done above, I still can not feel a major boost on the performance.  So I was in the market for some force induction solutions.  I had thought about superchargeing or turbochargeing my Maxima.  But both of them cost a lot of money and time.  So I decided to put a 100 shot NOS system into my car.  I also had the ECU reprogrammed to suit the needs of NOS. I still haven't have the chance to Dyno or time this car.  Hopefully, I will have the chance to do both of them in the near future.  On the suspension part, the only modification I did was the Eibach springs.  I was lucky enough to locate this set of rims for my car.  I was told that there were less than a dozen sets imported to the US from Japan.  These rims are called Maystorm.  They are 17", 2-piece, light weight rims.  These rims actually weight less then my stock 15"s.  I recently changed all four tires to 235 45 17 Dunlop D40 M2.  D40 is a very good performance tire.  But I like my old Yokohama AVS better.  In the near future, I probably will work on the fuel system, suspension, ignition, and brakes.  Hopefully, this car will not die before I've done all that.  Many people think that I am wasting my money to do all this to my Maxima.  But I think I am inspired by the racing heritage of Nissan.  Well, if any of you have question about my Maxima, please E-Mail me.  I'll do the best to help.
