I am the original owner of an 87 Nissan Maxima.  Despite having problems in Sep 97 with the fuel injector problem (actually had engine fire).  The car still runs like it did the day I drove it off the lot.  I know have 160,500 miles on it.  The only problems I have had are with the starter, fuel injection system, muffler, headlights and sun roof which needs to be repaired.  What a great vehicle and I wil ride it until the axles fall off!

Hello Maxima lovers, sorry I have no pictures yet; I have a white 88 SE 5sp.  Although she is 10 years old she still runs very strong, the engine and clutch have less than 50K miles but the odometer is reading 190,000!!!!  But still have topped her out at 125+. I have replaced the stock air filter with a K+N, I have also drilled holes in the top of the filter box for more air, I replaced the factory exhaust with a MONZA PACESETTER dual exhaust system (real sweet and good sound) I am probably an additional 15 horses, with the K+N filter and remodified air box and exhaust. I have some surface rust but that is the next project!!!

I own a 1987 SE 5spd Silver Max. The thing is sweet. I've included two pictures of it, sorry for the grey scale but that's the only scanner I had available to me. I'll get come color ones soon.
It has 117,000 miles on it and just had the clutch replaced for the first time at 98,000. That's pretty good for a city-daily driver. I put a JVC in-dash CD player in it and a Cherokee CM5 CB radio right under it. The only majoy problem I've had is that the engine continualy smelled like gasoline. I've been tightening the hoses around the fuel injectors, but it kept happening until the past time I took it to the dealer and got a whole new fuel injection system for free--recalled just recently. The car's great and so is your site!
